If any of you could please share the videos concerning Brazil I have posted below. The mass media is not reporting on any of this, today radio stations’ signals were cut and replaced with the narration of soccer games simply because they were reporting on police brutality who locked protesters inside a park with children and women inside, gassed them and shot rubber bullets.
No, this is not what my blog is about, but if Catherine’s hair can get 25 notes, I’m sure that the fight for Brazil’s democracy deserves too.
The brazilian media is being censured. Websites that express the true situation by people who have been victims of police brutality are being taken down. The government is refusing to acknowledge any of this, and our president has not even made a statement about the situation. The Brazil media is reporting that the protesters are vandals and bandits.
What is it that Brazil is protesting for, you may ask?
- We want the end of rampant corruption that affects every single system in the country
- We want the end of police brutality
- We want better conditions in public transportation, public hospitals and schools
- We want the government to listen to its people, and not repress peaceful manifestations of democracy
- We want justice for those who were hurt by police brutality in what started as a peaceful manifestation against the raising of the prices of what may be one of the worst public transportation systems in the world
- We want some of the funds that have been used for the World Cup (including the building of the most expensive arena ever to host a world cup - costing 1.2 billion) to be used for necessary things such as fighting hunger and poverty
- We want our media not to be censured and to expose the reality of the country
Does that sound absurd to you?
We need the world to listen, and the internet is our only way. The only way we can change things is if we get the world to speak up and pressure the brazilian government into action - and that’s why we need your help. Please, please, please help us.

Inspired by the gr8 theory that Deucalion is the friend that Chris talks about in s1, but who hadn’t died from the bullet to the head and was instead blinded (btw I lost track of the original post, so if someone could drop me a link somewhere so i can link it, i’d be most grateful!)
Drew water because of the origins of his name. I think that Deucalion (or lbr whatever his name really is) and Chris weren’t much older than Scott and Stiles when it happened, so just drew a kind of anonymous looking dude. ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌
Rose literally said that she was going to stay with the Doctor forever, made a choice that could have meant she would never see her mother again, and in Aliens of London/World War Three she chose to go with the Doctor instead of staying like her mum asked if not BEGGED her to- even just refusing to stay for tea because the Doctor forced her to make that choice.
Martha left with the Doctor even when her mum said not to because it wasn’t safe- and anyone watching the show knows how true that is. And she basically kept it a secret for as long as she could.
Donna didn’t tell her family that she was leaving apart from waving at her Granddad from the TARDIS and Martha- who knew what she was talking about- had to tell her to tell them about it.
Amy and Rory made the choice after S6 to stay at home and only occasionally travel with the Doctor. Even during that season they stayed home and only started traveling with him again when Melody made them all go to WWII. Yes in S5 her life did revolve around the Doctor, but she grew as a character as they all do. She has a job outside of him, she has a life and friends outside of him- as does Rory.
Clara kept her responsibilities to the family that she nannies for by only traveling with the Doctor on Wednesdays. Her mum is dead remember and there has yet to be much mention of her father, sure, but remember she’s only had a half a season so far. That line about “I was born to save the Doctor.”? That’s applicable to what she chose to do by choosing to step into his timestream and become fragmented across time and space along his timeline to help save a man that just from the short time she’s known him knows how important he is to the universe. Again, that was her choice.
